Save a Girl, Change the World is excited to discuss the organization MountainMountain (M2M). I read an article on the founder Shannon Galpin in the recent edition of Outside magazine and just had to find out more. This is truly an amazing women and organization. Mountain2Mountain (M2M) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the people of Afghanistan, with a focus on women and girls and gender equity.
“Mountain2Mountain is working to create education and opportunity for the women and girls of Afghanistan. We believe that investing in women and girls is the most effective way to achieve stability and economic prosperity” (M2M, 2011).
M2M’s founder, Shannon Galpin, started M2M in 2006. “Inspired by becoming a mother, Shannon took action on her deep conviction that all women and girls deserve the same rights and opportunities as her own daughter” (M2M, 2011).
